Hyaluronic acid is a kind of high molecular polymer, which is an advanced polysaccharide composed of D-glucuronic acid and N-acetyl glucosamine. D-glucuronic acid and N-acetyl glucosamine are connected by β-1Magol 3-sugar bond, while the disaccharide unit is connected by β-1Magol 4-sugar bond. The relative molecular weight of hyaluronic acid in human body is between 5000 and 20 million Dohr. It is synthesized by fibroblasts in the dermis and keratin forming cells in the epidermis.
